Loved this place a little gem. Tucked away down the main street but it was an upstairstairs venue and so easy to miss just look out for the billboards outside. Food was all freshly cooked and delicious and very goid value for money too. I will certainly be visiting again.
Just a lovely little nook hidden from view with fantastic cakes, scones, sandwiches, great tea and coffee. Fantastically yummy said our 6year old. Mmmmmm.
Poplar Tree Garden Centre, Hall Lane, Shincliffe DH1 2NG, UK – 0191 384 7553
Lovely cafe, quite popular. Nice seating outside, great after a nice stroll along the Wear with the dogs. Not the cheapest, but still worth a go!
Just had corned beef toastie this morning, so much salt it was unpleasant. I like this place and have been many times but will avoid said toastie next time. Otherwise the meals looked good.

A beautiful coffee shop. Tiny but lots of sweet and savoury options. Huge salads and delicious paninis. Gorgeous setting and friendly staff.
A great little hideaway for lovely scones tea and coffee and loads more. I had jalapeno and cheese scone pot of tea with crunchie cookie pie. My wife had cheese and pickle scone and brownie with tea. Lovely.

Consistently the best fish & chips in the area. Always beautiful, thick, white flakes of fish. And great service, too!
Excellent service food cooked normally to order but worth the wait

96 Elvet Bridge, Durham DH1 3AG, UK – 0191 384 0096
Very nice looking place, lovely to sit outside just off the bridge. Burger was very good too, but the chips were just average. It's a great place to go and try, but in my opinion there are other places that do the food better in Durham.
Popular resturant on the bridge at Durham City centre.indoor and outdoor seating. Food-basically pub food ranging from burgers to chicken to salads to fries.etc.well cooked well presented. Staff-friendly polite helpful. Seating inside tight .little space between tables. Atmosphere happy and relaxed. A great way to pass a couple of hours whilst watching the world go by
Darlington Rd, Durham DH1 3QN, UK – 0191 375 7651
Good range of largest, beers & cider. Several tasty looking gin cocktails. Good food menu. Nice afternoon atmosphere. Appeared clean & well maintained. Sevice a little slow but staff very pleasant & helpful. Car park a little awkward in places.
Waiting and bar staff are delightful, simply DELIGHT. If you are going there for a meal and or special occasion you will not be disappointed. Main courses (and especially the deserts) are spectacular and very well priced with reasonable portions My only gripes from the experience overall would be to say that the chip portions are slightly on the smaller side and the steaks, when asked for medium-rare often come back as rare. This has been a repeated issue - indeed. In conclusion, This review should not at all deter you from visiting this fine eatery establishment. The very friendly staff make you feel welcome and the overall dining experience is just short of euphoric.

Lovely tasty food, very quick service and friendly staff, a bit more expensive than what I'm used to but you get what you pay for.
Food is excellent especially if you like fresh veg in your chow mein.

Standards are very high with each individual dish tasting quite distinctively of its ingredients. Duck, beef, chicken, king prawns, ribs, BBQ sauce, gravy, curry, black bean sauce, etc... all taste absolutely right. Food quality is excellent, taste and flavour is great. The staff are really helpful, advising on quantities as well as details of ingredients and cooking methods. Great delivery service. Very recommended if you want Chinese food in Durham and nearby!
Dubious given the mix of reviews. But the lady serving was excellent and polite, the food was piping hot and delicious! We don't live far either ;) definitely going back 💟

Amazing Indian Food. Can’t get through the door on a Saturday night. Tandoori Chicken makes KFC look silly. I Recommend this Restaurant to everyone who loves Indian Takeaway. Customers from Chester-Le-Street to Bowburn.
It's been a while since we ordered takeaway from here been great food every time even when it used to be Rajahs Kitchen Tonight was no exception ordered via Just Eat collection since it's just over the Road. The food was exquisite. Exceptional. Mouthwatering. All the times we smell fab aromas whilst passing. Onion Bahjis were the best I've had in long time and the Indonesian Chicken was just Awesome. We are incredibly lucky to be sandwiched between two exceptional Indian Takeaways in Framwellgate.

Pre-ordered but waited till we got there beforw they started. Food was ok not the best. Service provided by chavy staff.
Excellent starters and main meals, have a little word and the chef will make that hot curry a bit more special!
11, Durham City Retail Park, Rennys Lane, Durham DH1 2RS, UK – 0845 753 2532
Very noisy I understand children get impatient..but when left to run riot around the place screaming and parents thinking it's ok.
The staff where too busy to notice that myself and another person standing waiting to place our order it was several minutes before a young man asked me if I had placed my order, he was polite and attentive but the time taken to even notice us standing there was unacceptable, it was. not the fault of the young man as he had just finished with a customer who had already ordered
Arnison Retail Park, Durham DH1 5DG, UK – 0191 386 2287
KFC is KFC. sometimes it is incredible and sometimes its soggy and overcooked. Staff here work too hard for the money they get in my opinion. They staff, or at least the ones I've dealt with, are really lovely and are clearly customer focused.
Not really much to say about large fast food chains, this is one of their better outlets. Chicken burger was good, as was dippers but very salty, the chicken thigh piece had a broken bone in, hopefully not a sign of the animal welfare conditions but I don't imagine it's the Ritz where they are raised
37 Young St, Durham DH1 2JU, UK – 0191 384 0218
Had our first Lebanese experience on Saturday. Where We ordered two shawarma wraps one chicken, one minces spicy mince. We took them back to the local tap room(the hop knocker) to enjoy with a nice cold one.
Fast and tasty. Shish Tawouk is a favourite. Big portions so easily share with another.
